Hello World!

I am delighted you stopped by for a visit!

Jesus asked his  followers (& his doubters) many questions. One key question asked is “What do you seek?” from John 1. Beginning September 9, I will be teaching a class at Underwood Baptist Church called “She Seeks” – a 10 week course for women that will explore 10 key questions the Master asked & must be answered by each of us.

To celebrate the launch of my new website, I am gifting someone with a $25 Gift Card to TJ MAXX! To enter, simply find a question that JESUS asked in Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John and put it in the comment box along with its scripture reference. Make sure you leave your name and email so I can contact you in the event you win the gift card! Can’t wait to see what you find!  If you live in the area – join us for this study!

I will be drawing from the comments entered before midnight August 17th!

If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
Love ya, Shelly. Thanks for all you do and for your faithfulness to what God has you doing.

  2. Matthew 8:26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

Great reminder of God’s awesome power and how fear will overcome us if we don’t fully trust Him! Love your teachings Shelly!

  3. Jesus fully realized all that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward to meet them. “Who are you looking for?” he asked. (John 18:4 NLT)

May God richly Bless you in your ministry. Proud to know you. 🙂

  4. Hey Shelly,
Great idea! My madre would love this. Here is the first question I know if Jesus asking:
“Why were you looking for me?” (followed by his second:) “Did you not know that I must be in my father’s house?” (Luke 2:49.)

    Thanks!
    Everly

  5. I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? Luke 6:9

  6. Matthew 20:32
Jesus stopped , called them, and said, ” What do you want Me to do for you?”
He was talking to the blind men who was sitting on the side of the road and asked the Lord to have mercy on them. I think most the time we ask God to do so much for us, that we never really take the time to ask God what He wants us to do for Him. I am one of the CNP workers that was at the workshop and I enjoyed it so much. I have been thinking about my mission statement every since. I think I took it more on the relationship and mother level than a working level. I explode on my kids way to much when I need to stop and listen. This is when I need to also use this verse and ask God what I can do for Him, in being a better mother, co-worker and friend. Again, I enjoyed it and thank you for coming out and doing it.

    1. That is awesome DeeAnna – the content of 7 Habits applies to your whole life – especially the kiddos! Loved being with you all! You are so right about asking a lot of our Savior without offering much in return.

  7. Luke 2:49
And He said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about My Father’s business?
I think that Satan’s will for our lives is for us to live in our own will…. Not God’s will. If we live in God’s will we would all be about our Father’s business…and in turn would probally have no problem with sharpening the saw.

  8. John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time; he asked him,” DO you want to get well?”
I knew there was something missing in my way of thinking and I could not get it right. I never could figure out how to put all the confusing thoughts in order till now.
